Occam's (Ockham's) Razor

In Wind, Sand, and Stars, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wrote "Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away."

Consciousness, says science, is biological process,
which is biochemical process,
which is chemical process,
which is physical process,
which is quantum mechanical process,
which is a probability wave,
which is only real when it has been collapsed by the act of perception,
which can be considered to be an act of consciousness.
